What is Seichim Reiki?
Seichim Reiki (pronounced "say-sheem") and also known as Sekhem ("sek-im") Reiki is an advanced form of soul-to-soul, hands-on energy healing that expands upon traditional Usui Reiki by working with higher-frequency, multidimensional energies. It is often described as a deeply intuitive and heart-centered system that supports healing across physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual layers of being. It is a sacred vibrational healing system that offers pure loving light.
Unlike traditional Usui Reiki, which primarily channels universal life force energy, Seichim is said to integrate a wider spectrum of energies including earth-based, cosmic, elemental and divine feminine frequencies. This creates a powerful yet gentle field of transformation that supports deep clearing, awakening, and energetic realignment.
Usui Reiki is often seen as masculine, whereas Seichim Reiki is seen as its feminine counterpart - together they create a harmonious match made in heaven!
It is said that Seichim energy is so powerful, that a 20-minute session can be equal to a 2-hour session of Usui Reiki. However, this may not always be the case, and will generally depend on the recipient and where they are at on their own healing journey. (As always, for the best results, leave all expectations behind!)
Seichim Reiki is also strongly associated with sacred archetypal energies, particularly the fierce transformative power of Goddess Sekhmet, the Egyptian lioness goddess of war and destruction, plus healing through purification and strength, and the compassionate presence of Goddess Kuan Yin, who embodies mercy, forgiveness and unconditional love. Together, these energies reflect the dual nature of Seichim: soft, compassionate, heart-healing combined with potent energetic purification and transmutation.
Within many teachings, Seichim is also linked to the awakening and movement of Kundalini energy—the dormant spiritual life force believed to rise through the energy centers of the body, starting from the root chakra (energy centre located at the base of the spine) and flowing upwards towards the crown chakra (energy centre just above the head). In this context, Seichim is said to support the safe activation, balancing, and integration of Kundalini energy, encouraging expanded consciousness, clarity, and embodiment.
In essence, Seichim Reiki is a transformative healing path that bridges compassion and power, stillness and intensity, earth and spirit. The Egyptian word "Sekhem" is often described as the “power of powers” - it works not only to heal but to transmute and awaken, supporting the integration of Kundalini energy and the expansion of consciousness into embodied wholeness, clarity, and spiritual sovereignty.
It is crucial to note that not everyone will experience a "Kundalini awakening" or "activation" through a Seichim Reiki session. And for those that do, not everyone will experience it in the exact same way. Remember that everyone is on their own unique journey and there is no "right" or "wrong" way when it comes to the path of spiritual development and personal healing. We will all receive and/or activate what we need to through divine timing.
**Tayo's Personal Note: I have had past clients experience "Kundalini awakenings" via Pellowah Healing sessions and have also heard of those who experienced Kundalini awakenings whilst going through a challenging life event and therefore, I do not believe that these experiences are tied to any one or specific healing modality. Instead, these major shifts/activations will happen when they are meant to. I am a believer that these types of "awakening" experiences are pre-destined and therefore, any modality or major life event can become the "switch" that initiates a person (when the time is right).**
Whilst Seichim Reiki is considered an upgraded/advanced form of Usui Reiki, it is important to understand that this is not a "separate" or "stand-alone" modality and therefore, it is usually combined with traditional Usui Reiki techniques and practices. Sessions will generally run as per a standard reiki session, with the main difference being the additional use of sacred Seichim Reiki symbols (as intuitively guided by Spirit/Source), and the energy often feeling more potent (but again, not always the case and depends on the individual receiving the energy).
Please kindly note, as with most energy healing sessions, it is strongly advised to not book in a session BEFORE any important upcoming events as you may find that you will need extra integration or "down-time" after your healing session. This can take anywhere from 1-2 days to a full week (or perhaps more). So please be mindful of this before booking in your session. Choose the date of your session wisely! :)
Who is the Founder of Seichim Reiki?
Seichim Reiki is widely attributed to its modern founder, Patrick Zeigler, an American who is said to have received the initial transmission of the energy following a profound spiritual experience in the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, in the King's Chamber during the 1980s. This experience is often described as a gateway into an ancient healing frequency that blends universal life force energy with what is perceived as Egyptian Temple Wisdom. Because of this origin story, Seichim is commonly associated with the energetic lineage of ancient Egypt, including the healing archetypes and vibrational qualities linked to deities such as Goddess Sekhmet, and is therefore viewed by many practitioners as a bridge between modern Reiki practice and ancient Egyptian mystery school energies and teachings.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO POTENTIAL CLIENTS: It is vital to understand that individual results/benefits will vary from person to person and for some (not everyone), the session(s) can potentially lead to a "healing crisis". A healing crisis is a temporary phase that some people experience after a strong energy healing session or deep inner work, where symptoms seem to briefly get worse before they improve. In simple terms: it’s like your body and energy system are clearing out old stress, emotions, and stored patterns all at once. Similar to a detox program. When deep healing happens—whether through Reiki, Seichim, meditation, or any other modality or detox —the system can start releasing things it has been holding onto for a long time. As this “clearing process” happens, it can temporarily feel uncomfortable. You may find that you are more emotional than usual (crying, mood swings), experiencing mild fatigue or needing more rest, having headaches or body aches, experiencing vivid dreams or disrupted sleep, feeling “off", sensitive, or a bit spacey, and/or finding old memories or emotions resurfacing briefly. Again, everyone's experience will be different and unique to them, and not everyone will go through a healing crisis. Many come out of an energy healing session feeling much "lighter", "grounded" or "at peace". Results will vary. At the end of the day, the most important thing to understand is that if things do arise and get uncomfortable, know that this is generally a normal part of the deep healing process. A healing crisis is usually the body and nervous system adjusting to a new level of balance. As old energetic blockages release, your system is recalibrating to a lighter, clearer state. Remember that a healing crisis is temporary and part of integration, and never a setback on your journey! It is often a sign that something has shifted deeply and the body is catching up to that change. If you do find yourself going through a healing crisis, please take it easy and try not to resist. If there are any emotions that come up - allow them to flow through you (rather than suppressing), ground yourself in nature where possible, stay hydrated, eat nourishing foods, get enough rest, do your best to trust the integration process, and always show yourself love and grace. Be kind and patient with yourself! Healing is not a linear process. And again, not everyone will experience a healing crisis. :)
FAQ: How is the Session Run?
Our Seichim Reiki Healing Sessions can be held either remotely (via distance) or in-person at Qi Crystals' Healing Centre (Wednesday or Friday afternoons; or Sundays by appointment) or The Soul Alchemist Clinic (Saturdays by appointment only). Please note that we charge extra for in-person sessions to cover the costs of room hire and additional preparation.
